Laura strives to connect people and to create awareness of the endless diversity of possibilities by offering a space to discover oneself and the others by learning with, through and from each other.

Laura Heider was born in Germany but grew up in Belgium and currently lives in the Netherlands, where she graduated from the Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg in 2023 with a degree in Dance Education. During her studies she fell in love with the art of spontaneous dance, sharing and connecting. She describes herself as a creative mover and is a passionate dancer, teacher, and creator.

Ever since she learned to use her hands, she has loved creating things, making up stories and moving through imaginary worlds. After school, however, she started to study physics, and later on mathematics and biology. Even though she was fascinated by what she was doing, she realized after a few years that something was missing: working with people and the opportunity to express herself, which she could do most freely through art. This was the turning point in her life when she made dance her profession and discovered what it already had been giving her all these years.

Through dance she became the person she is today. For her, dance has always been a medium of expression and communication, which also gives her the opportunity to understand life in all its richness. She firmly believes that dance is a natural extension of our intuitive movement and physical expression. Something so personal, that it transcends form. In her beliefs, dance brings us not only into contact with our own body, the movement, and the music, but also with the outside world and the people around us.

During her dance studies, she also began to deepen her knowledge in Flying Low and Passing Through, two parts of David Zambrano's work, which are a great inspiration to her and influence her both in her dance and improvisation practice and in the way she implements connection in her own teaching.
